For your convenience, accommodation has been arranged at both the Pullman Melbourne Albert Park and Mercure Melbourne Albert Park, where the LVK Collaboration Meeting will take place. Staying at these hotels means you’ll have easy access to all the conference sessions without the need for additional travel.

Getting to Melbourne
Melbourne is well-connected to major cities around the world, making it an accessible destination for international and domestic travellers alike. The main airport serving the city is Melbourne Tullamarine Airport (MEL), located approximately 30 minutes from the Pullman Melbourne Albert Park hotel.

There are numerous direct flights to Melbourne from various international cities, including Los Angeles, London, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Auckland. Domestically, flights connect Melbourne to Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, and other major Australian cities.

Getting to Pullman Melbourne Albert Park

Once you arrive at Melbourne Airport, there are several transport options to reach the Pullman Melbourne Albert Park hotel:
  • Taxi/Rideshare: A taxi or rideshare service (Uber, DiDi, etc.) will take approximately 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic. The estimated fare is around AUD $60 - $80 ($39 - $53 USD, €36 - €48 Euro).
  • Airport Shuttle: SkyBus offers an affordable transfer from Melbourne Airport to the city. You can then take a taxi or tram to the hotel. More information is available on the SkyBus website.
  • Public Transport: Melbourne’s extensive public transport network includes trains, trams, and buses. Take a train or bus to the city centre and connect to Tram Route 96 or 16, which stops near Albert Park.

International attendees, please note that a visa may be required to enter Australia. We recommend that you start the process of obtaining a visa well in advance. 

 
What visa do I need to enter Australia as an international attendee?
We suggest that you visit the Australian Immigration and Home Affairs website to find more info on which visas to apply for. 
 
Who will organise and pay for my visa?
It is the responsibility of the attendees to apply for the appropriate visa and pay the associated costs. We are not involved in the visa granting process. 
 
Do I need a letter of invitation? 
If your visa application requires a letter of invitation from the event organiser, please contact [email protected] with the following information (more information may be required depending on your circumstances): 
  • Full name as stated on your passport 
  • Professional title/job title 
  • Institution/Organisation name 
  • Address of your Institution/Organisation

​Public Transport and myki Card


Melbourne’s public transport system offers a convenient way to navigate the city and its surrounding suburbs, with trams, trains, and buses all accessible via a reusable myki card. Here’s what you need to know:

Purchasing a myki Card
A myki card is essential for using public transport in Melbourne. You can purchase a myki card at major train stations, some tram stops, and most convenience stores, or via the PTV app. Cards can be topped up with funds online or at myki machines located at major transport hubs.

Using Public Transport
  • Trams: Melbourne’s iconic trams run frequently, with the central business district (CBD) offering a Free Tram Zone that covers many popular city destinations.
  • Trains: Trains connect the CBD with the suburbs and regional areas. The nearest train station to Pullman Melbourne Albert Park is Prahran Station.
  • Buses: Buses are available throughout Melbourne, providing access to areas not served by trains or trams.
